Due to the distributed, long rail system, electric monorail overhead conveyors (Elektrohängebahnen or EHB) are predestined to make use of the advantages of DC energy distribution in terms of material requirements and voltage drop s. At the Daimler plant in Sindelfingen, an EHB with a total of 5 vehicles has been converted to DC for the project. Each vehicle contains three engines, which are controlled by converters. For DC-INDUSTRIE, 5 drive manufacturers have each equipped one vehicle. Both switch cabinet devices and DC/AC inverters without switch cabinets are used for this.
